Philip was born September 9, 1926 to the late Isaiah and Margarete Meeks. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy, serving during one of the toughest times in our nation's history, WWII and the Korean Conflict. After his time in the Navy, he began a career at Robins Air Force Base in Civil Service where he retired after a faithful 35 year career. Philip was of the Methodist faith and was a founding member of Glenwood Hills Methodist Church. Most recently he was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. Philip was the epitome of a hard worker, working tirelessly to provide for the family that he and his loving wife, Isabell, created.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Isabell Chastain Meeks; two sons: Raymond Meeks (Donna) and Lynn Meeks; and one grandson Bryan Meeks (Ivy). The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to two special caregivers and friends; Sandra Harden and Shirley Whitzel, as well as the caretakers from Serenity Hospice.
