Peggy Merritt

Peggy Joy Merritt, 83, of Lizella went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 1, 2015. Funeral Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held Thursday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Lizella Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Shannon Back and Reverend Chris Minton will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the gathering place in the church.
Peggy was a devoted member of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Lizella Baptist Church for 73 years. For over 50 years she was a Ladies Sunday School teacher. Peggy was a Godly woman and enjoyed reading scriptures out of her Bible.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her loving husband, William Emmett Merritt of Lizella, Ga.
Children, William Michael Merritt (Gina) and Philip Craig Merritt, both of Lizella, Ga.; Tonya Merritt Strawser of Athens, Ga. Grandson, Gavin Daniel Strawser of Athens, Ga. Brother, Reverend David L. Mosely (Glenda) of Macon, Ga.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 South Lizella Road, Lizella, Ga. 31052 or to Gideons International, 524 Poplar Street Macon, Ga. 31201.
