Pearl Beasley

March 15, 1928 — August 31, 2021

Pearl Irene (Penney) Pennington Beasley, age 93 of Macon, Georgia passed away on August 31, 2021.
She was born to the late Daisy C. Pennington and David N. Pennington on March 15, 1928 in Eastlake, Florida. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Penney was predeceased by her son Jack T. Beasley, Jr. and her brother Philip Pennington. She is survived by her son Sherman D. Beasley, grandson David W. Beasley, 2 sisters Janet Duff and Barbara Howard and numerous nieces and nephews.

Penney attended Americus High School before attending the Macon Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated as an R.N. in 1948. She was a nurse for over 50 years at the Macon Hospital which later became the Medical Center. She loved her patients and enjoyed reminiscing about her time as a nurse.

A devout Christian, Penney was a longtime member of Riverside United Methodist Church. As long as her health allowed, she was very involved in all church activities. Penney especially enjoyed helping with the Live Nativity Scene every Christmas. She said it reminded her of when her boys were young.

One of Penney's favorite hobbies was tending her flowers. Her yard was always immaculate as anyone who knew her will tell you. She was an avid backyard bird watcher and fed the birds to encourage them to visit, however, she was not overly fond of the squirrels that took the bird food.

Family was the most important thing to Penney. As long as her parents were alive, she visited them almost every weekend. She took time off from her career as a nurse to stay home with her boys. She taught Sunday School, volunteered at their schools and served as den mother for the Cub Scouts while her children were small.

Private services for the family will be held. The family wishes to thank everyone that extended emotional support for Penny. Donations to St. Jude may be made on her behalf.
