Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Davis Peterson, age 68, passed away peacefully on April 2nd 2019, with her family by her side after a brief illness. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in The Mausoleum Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation one hour prior. Immediately following the service, entombment will take place in Macon Memorial Park. After the service, a reception will take place at the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Pat was born and raised in Macon, Georgia to Betty Keys Davis and the late Lamar Davis Jr. She was a 1968 graduate of McEvoy High School. After graduation, Pat began working at Southern Bell. Later in the 1970s, Pat reconnected with Larry Peterson, a friend from high school,
The two began dating and were married on March 25, 1977.They continually demonstrated a wonderful example of marriage for 42 years. Around 1980, the family settled just outside of Milledgeville, which has been their home for 36 years.
Pat chose to stay at home and devote her time to making a home for the family. She took great pride in being a mother and teaching her children, life skills as they were coming of age. This passion spilled over and she found a niche for her skills as a mother; over the span of nearly 20 years, as an in-home daycare provider for a number of families. They in turn became family. Throughout the years she always made sure to stay updated with how her "babies" were doing. She was a mentor to any child she met.
When she wasn't taking care of children, Pat loved nothing more than vacationing at Panama City Beach, and saw to it the family visited annually for many years.
She wore many hats including; Mom, Aunt Pat, Mrs. Pat, Nanny, and Nanaw.
Survivors include her husband; Larry Peterson of Milledgeville, children; Dustin Peterson(Jessica) of Monroe, Jamilyn Ellis (Corey) of Buford; grandchildren, Courtney Ellis, Peyton Ellis and Scout Peterson; brother Bill Davis(Sandy) of Ruskin, Fl; Mother; Betty Keys Davis, Mother-in-law Anne Peterson of Eastman; Sister-in-law Pam Peterson of Warner Robins and many nieces and nephews
