Patricia Gail Gibbs Head, 74, of Butler, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 27, 2026. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, May 4, at 3:00 PM at Pope City Baptist Church, 15213 Georgia Highway 112 North, Rochelle, Georgia 31079. Immediately following, Mrs. Head will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Head was born on December 10, 1951, in Rochelle, Georgia, to the late Mr. Marion Gibbs and Mrs. Lela Layfield Gibbs. She retired from Robins Air Force Base, where she worked in civil service. Mrs. Head was a devoted woman of faith who found great joy and strength in her relationship with the Lord. She was a former member of Pope City Baptist Church and later became a faithful member of Evangelistic House of Prayer in Fort Valley, where she loved attending services and lifting her voice in praise and worship to Jesus. Her commitment to her church and her spiritual life was a guiding light to those who knew her.
Beyond her faith, Mrs. Head found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for cooking, often expressing her care and affection for others through the meals she prepared and shared. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed working word search puzzles, a pastime that brought her relaxation and contentment. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, her devotion, and the love she so freely gave to family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Head was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Head, Jr. "Frosty;" grandchild, Walker Ragin; great-grandchildren, Abigail McDuffie and Clara Grace James; and siblings, Elizabeth Hayslip, Elmer Gibbs, Wayne Gibbs, Herman Gibbs, and Billy Spires.
Left to cherish Mrs. Head’s memory are her loving husband, Stephen Head; daughters, Shelia Warren, Melissa Newell, Amy Ledford (Ronnie), and Lauren Warren (David); ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Spivey and Eunice Barnes; and a host of extended family members.
