Otis Carlton Hester, 81, of Macon passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Funeral Services to honor and celebrate his life will be held Monday, April 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home with the Reverend Joe Daniel officiating. The family will have a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial with military honors will be immediately following the funeral service in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Born in Milledgeville he was the son of the late John Wheeler Hester and Lucille Kitchens Hester. Otis proudly served our country in the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a proud Army Veteran. After his time in the service he worked at, and later retired from Robins Air Force Base. Otis was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed racing. He was a member of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and the American Legion.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 39 years, Evelyn Cuppett Hester. Step-Daughter; Pam Sanders (Wayne), Step-Sons; Ricky Bryant (Karen) and Danny Bryant. Six Grandchildren, Sixteen Great-Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson. Siblings; Robert Hester (Linda), Sara Merriman, Eleanor Russell and Sue McKinney (Gary) and niece, Katherine Rozar. As well as his two special fishing buddies, Ralph West and Kerry Pilcher.
The family will also be receiving friends and family at the residence of Pam and Wayne Sanders.
