Opal Erline Ivey Sullivan, 95, of Macon, passed into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 21, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Plantation Villa Community Center.
Mrs. Sullivan was born on July 22, 1928, in Quitman, Mississippi, to the late Mr. Fred Arnold Ivey, Sr., and Mrs. Evie Beckman Ivey. She was raised in Chickasaw, AL, where she served the Lord at First Baptist Church. She received her bachelor's degree in teaching from Livingston State Teacher's College and retired from the Mobile County School System after thirty years of service.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Frank Carrol Sullivan, Sr.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her sons, Frank Carrol (Connie) Sullivan, Jr. , and Scott (Scarlett) Sullivan; daughter, Tracee (David) Mattingly; grandchildren, Frank Carroll III (Christine) Sullivan, Bradley (Angel) Sullivan, Dayne (Kailyn) Sullivan, Elias (Hannah) Sullivan, Saige Sullivan, Nolan Sullivan, Neill Young, Camellia Young, Magnolia Young; Great-grandchildren Grant Sullivan, Ella Claire Sullivan, Lucy Sullivan, Karsyn Miles, Cruz Sullivan, Orion Sullivan, Paxton Sullivan, Samuel Sullivan, Elleyna Sullivan, Marigold Meece, Marzia Ruiz-Young; sister Jolene Ivey and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
