Norma Tompkins Lindsey, "MeMe"

Norma Tompkins Lindsey, "MeMe", 74, of Lizella, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026. Funeral services will be private.

Ms. Lindsey was born on October 7, 1951, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Mr. Norman E. Tompkins and Mrs. Beverly Sue Jones Tompkins. She spent a majority of her career behind the bars of Nashville South, The Yellow Rose, and Whiskey River. She loved serving others and treasured the relationships she formed over the years.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Lindsey was preceded in death by her husband of 19 years, Thomas Clayborne Orr, Jr.; and her brother Ronnie Tompkins.

Left to cherish Ms. Lindsey’s memory are her siblings Donna (Jimmy) Pettis, Gary (Beverly) Tompkins, and Rusty (Eileen) Tompkins, 6 nieces & nephews, 7 great nieces & nephews, and 2 great great nieces.
