Nita Francis Rewis

Nita Rewis Layman passed away at the age of 60 on Monday, June 26, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mt. Pleasant Church Rd, Macon, Georgia, 31216. A private burial will follow in Mt Pleasant Baptist Church in Pineview, Georgia.

Born in Toombs County, Nita was the daughter of Ms. Emma Carey. She was preceded in death by her eldest brother Skipper. She is survived by her beloved husband Jeff Pushnik, son, Jeremiah Tuberville (Amanda Napuanoelani Tuberville), sister Ellen Poole and her brothers Ricky Rewis, Don Hutcheson, Danny Rewis and Alvin Carey.
She was a beloved Grandmother to four grandchildren, Emma, Victoria, Razlyn and Kaylyn. She
also had several cousins, nieces and nephews who adored her.

Nita served as a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was a retired caretaker. Her desire for world peace and universal love, especially her love of God and family could be best described in the lines of the music and poetry that she loved. She will be missed for her amazing sense of humor, unending kindness and generosity towards others, along with her quick wit.
