Nellie Carr

Nellie Ann Batchelor Carr, 85, of Macon, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. Immediately following, Mrs. Carr will be laid to rest in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation on Monday, February 5, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Carr was born on April 12, 1938, in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late Mr. Lloyd Batchelor and Mrs. Exie Carter Batchelor. She was a member of the Red Hat Club. Mrs. Carr spent much of her free time reading, sewing, gardening, and bowling. She was an independent lady that loved her family dearly, especially her grandbabies.

Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Charles Clay Carr; son, David Carr; and six siblings.

Mrs. Carr is survived by her sons, Michael Carr, Charles Carr (Carol), and Ken Carr (Stacy); grandchildren, Jessica, Brian, Clay, Courtney, Chelsea, Christopher, Robin, Amie, and Tammy, many great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Simmons, Carrie Simmons, Kay Faulk, and Mary DeFore; and brother, Buck Batchelor.
