Millwood Donald Windham, Jr., 68, of Macon, passed away peacefully Monday, November 6, 2017. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd, Macon. Burial will take place later that day at 2:30 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Millwood was the son of the Millwood and Mary Windham. He proudly served our country in the United States Army as a sharpshooter and a combat medic. He was self-employed as a carpenter for M.D. Windham and Sons Construction where he was a carpenter. Millwood was a true outdoorsman and loved to fish but especially loved to hunt. When he was not hunting he liked watching westerns and old karate movies. He was a member of the local VFW and several hunting clubs.
Millwood was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife; Jeraldine Watson Windham.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. Two daughters: Cathy Tharpe (Pat Kelly) and Rhonda James (Robin). Eight grandchildren: Jimmy White, Wesley Tharpe, Sarah Tharpe, Dakota Tharpe, Jaimee Hogan, Jenna Hogan, Jordan Hogan, and Brittan James. Three great grandchildren: J.W. White, Ace Gillis, and Liam Wortherly. As well as three siblings: James Windham, Margie Angelo and Teresa Dyer.
