Michael "Shane" Upshaw, 57, of Gray, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
A memorial service celebrating Shane's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 20, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service.
Born on June 12, 1969, in Macon, Georgia, Shane was the beloved son of Mrs. Mary Ann Schewe and the late Mr. Larry Upshaw.
Shane was a man whose kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. A hardworking and dependable man, he approached life with determination while always making time for the people he loved most. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved mother, whom he loved dearly.
An avid outdoorsman, Shane found peace on the water with a fishing pole in hand. He also enjoyed playing pool, cards, and sharing laughter with family and friends. Some of his fondest childhood memories were made at church camp, where even bouts of poison ivy couldn't keep him from having fun. Those experiences reflected the cheerful outlook he carried throughout his life. Shane had a special place in his heart for animals, especially dogs, and his compassion extended to everyone around him. His warm smile, generous nature, and caring heart will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Mary Ann Schewe; his sons, Michael Upshaw, Matthew Upshaw, and Morgan (Brittany) Massey; his sisters, Cree (Jimmy) Waters and Angel (Lynn) Wilfong; his cherished granddaughter, Madi Jarratt; aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Though Shane's time with us was far too short, the kindness he shared, the love he gave so freely, and the countless memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
