Michael Shipman

January 21, 1949 — May 17, 2024

Michael Wayne Shipman, 75, of Lizella, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 17, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family requests anyone that would like to come, please do so and request that you share your favorite stories of Michael.

Michael was born on January 21, 1949, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. Lamar R. Shipman and Mrs. Frances K. Shipman. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he received a Bronze Star. After being honorably discharged, he was employed with the Department of Defense as a Water Treatment Technician. Michael was a man of truth, always telling you exactly what you needed to hear. He was bold, outspoken, and a very passionate man. Michael found joy in the simple thing's life had to offer including hunting on weekends at the camp house, fishing, and building motorcycles. He enjoyed the music of the Atlanta Rhythm Section and was always devoted to the ones he loved. "Let It Be" and "It Is What It Is" were his lines to live by, those will be cherished forever. Michaels devoted heart and nursing spirit will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 Years, Paulette W. Shipman, brothers, Charles Oliver Shipman, Scott Kevin Shipman, and Lamar "Butch" Shipman.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Shannon (Tanya) Shipman and Melissa (Scott) Warrington; brother, Joe W. Shipman; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
