Michael David Bryant, 66, a life-long resident of Lizella, passed away on January 19, 2023, after long illnesses.
Mike was born on October 6, 1956, to Mary Yarbrough Bryant and Newton Bryant, also of Lizella. He earned his GED in 1978 and started working as a carpenter early on. He made that his livelihood from then on. He was a quick learner, and he taught his son everything he knew about that trade.
In 2020, Mike was forced to scale back his work, due to his illnesses, but he continued doing odd jobs. He spent his time helping others with their carpentry, tractor work, and mechanical needs. He also enjoyed arrowhead hunting, collecting an assortment of things, and "living hard and fast" as he said many times.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Newton Bryant and the mother of his children, Janet Stokes.
He is survived by his son, Shaun Bryant (Jackie) and daughter, Christy Dumas, grandsons Blake Bryant, Matthew Jacks, Aaron, Hunter and Nate, sister Beverly (James) Hinson, brother Ronald Bryant, several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended Yarbrough and Bryant families. Survivors also include his partner, Susan Harris, and her children, whom he adored: Daisy, Lily, Rose, and Jesse Harris.
The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends on Friday, January 27, 2023. from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home.
The family will graciously accept flowers, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
