Michael Barnwell

Michael Edgar Barnwell Sr. 74, of Macon, Georgia passed away November 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Lizella Baptist Church. Dr. Shannon Back and Reverend Chris Minton will officiate. The family will have a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. in Fairhaven Funeral Home on Thursday, November 9, 2017.
Born in Macon, He was the son of the late Edgar Barnwell and Mildred Sweat Tharpe and was preceded in death by his brothers, James and Donald Barnwell. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Lizella Baptist Church, where he attended the John Henry Clance Sunday School Class.
Mr. Barnwell was a member of the Oakview Golf Club and was a PGA Volunteer. He served as State Treasurer for Georgia Good Sam's Club and was a member of the Chapter 19 Singing Sam's. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan and enjoyed volunteering with Vine Ingle Little League and the Georgia State Fair. He was currently working part time with Enterprise Car Rental Company.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Grant Barnwell, Children, Eddie Barnwell(Bonnie), Donnie Barnwell(Marlena) and Kelly Kornegay(Lance). Brothers and Sisters, Gary Barnwell(Josephina), Julia Bond(James), Joan Huebner(Bill), Allen Tharpe(Tamara), Billy Tharpe, Nancy Parson(Gary), Leah Wetherby, Jean Towe(Harvey). Nine Grandchildren, Two Great Grandchildren, and "Little Walker" on the way.
In lieu of flowers the family requested memorials be sent to the Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 South Lizella Road Lizella, Ga. 31052.
