Merlin Koth

Merlin "Mike" Leroy Koth, 84, of Warner Robins was called to his Heavenly home Sunday morning; July 15, 2018. A memorial service with Military honors will be held Monday July 23, 2018 in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon at 11:00 AM with Reverend Davis C. Brighton officiating . The family will receive visitors starting at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Merlin was born November 27, 1933 in Storm Lake, Iowa to the late Lorenz Koth and Hilda Peckenschneider Koth. He was baptized and later confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aurelia, Iowa. Merlin grew up on a farm 3 miles north of Aurelia, Iowa and attended Aurelia public schools, graduating in 1952. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan. He served his country with honor and courage in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, later completing his service at Robins Air Force Base. While stationed in Warner Robins he met and married Sue Stribling. They returned to Aurelia, Iowa where he joined his father's electrical business. In addition to being a proud air force veteran Mike was a hardworking man who later returned to Warner Robins where he owned and operated his own business; Koth Electric and was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Warner Robins.
Although Sue and Merlin were later divorced, they were blessed with three children. Left to mourn the loss of Merlin is: a son, Andrew P. Koth, daughters Regina K. King and DeShon K. Sandifer (Dereck). Also left to cherish his memory is his sister Karen K. Van Hooser (Jerold), grandchildren: Tyler A. Atkinson, Adriana C. Grinnage, Dereck J. Sandifer, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive guest at the home of Regina King on Saturday July 21, 2018.
