Melvin L. Hardy, Sr., of Lizella, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. A memorial service will be held on a later date.
Mr. Hardy was born on October 11, 1942, in Byron, Georgia, to the late Mr. Thomas Franklin Hardy and Mrs. Willa Lorene Newberry. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Hardy retired from Cherokee Brick Company, where he worked as fleet manager.
Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his sisters, Marietta White, Hazel Dunaway, Pansy Busbee, Mabel Lineberger, Dorothy Taylor and brother, Lamar Hardy.
Mr. Hardy is survived by his wife, Laurie Bink Hardy; sons, Melvin L. Hardy, Jr. and Michael Chad Hardy (Lisa) ; stepson, David Repinski (Robin); three grandchildren; three step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and brother-in-law, Jim White.
