November 17, 1958 — March 8, 2025
Mary Lynne Bass Pitts, 66, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Solid Rock Community Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Wiley Leverett officiating.
Mary was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 17, 1958, to the late Mr. Alec Clifton King and Mrs. Pennie King. Mary was a woman whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone she met. With a heart of gold, she was always ready to lend a hand, cooking delicious meals not only for her family but for her church community as well. She had an undeniable passion for cooking, often creating meals with love and care that brought people together. Mary was a devoted soul, finding joy in dancing to the music of Elvis Presley, a hobby that always made her smile. She found solace in her faith, attending church regularly and offering her time and kindness to those in need. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, but it was her selfless nature that truly defined her—she would do anything for anyone, always putting others first. Mary was a true friend, and once you had her as a friend, you had a friend for life. Her loyalty, kindness, and generosity were unmatched, and she lived by her word, making sure her friends and family knew they could always count on her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and dedication will never be forgotten.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Vernon Pitts; children, Bryan Bass and Ashlee Bass; grandchildren Zai'ya Anderson and Jayvion Reid, her sisters Judy Mitchell, Joy King, Gail Trauco, and her late brother Steven Wayne King; and loving family and friends.
