Mary Layson

Mary Anne Layson, Beloved Wife, Momma, and Mimi, passed away peacefully, Friday April 24, 2015. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, April 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon, Georgia with the Reverend Charles Harbor officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Mary was the epitome of a giver; she made it her goal to ensure everyone else's happiness and needs came before her own. She was known for her selfless generosity and was a bright light for many even in her darkest days. Most knew Mary as a "Lion" because of her courageous, brave, and determined personality. She began her career at Fleet Pride as a secretary in 1978 and was faithful until 2013. Through hard work and perseverance she advanced throughout her career and retired as the branch manager. Her staff and customers were family, and she treated them as such.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Ronnie Layson. Married in June of 1979 they blended their families to include their children, Heather (Mittch) Lehman, Charles (Ann) Layson, Elisa (Robby) Riezinger, Kristy ( John) Dixon and Stacy (Joe) Barrett. She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Savannah, Chelsea, Bonnie, Ben, Billy, Beth, Bryan, Bre, Brooke, Brylie, Braydon, Boone, Baylie, Blue, Nicole, Brittany, Sierra, Katelyn, Joanna, Corey and Aaron. As well as great-grandchildren Kristin, JJ, and Tyson.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Georgia Cancer Center and especially Dr. Ursula Reusch and her staff for their genuine compassion and determination to help Mary have as many memory making moments as possible.
