Mary Fleetwood Tucker

September 8, 1945 — October 22, 2023

Mary Fleetwood Tucker, 78, of Macon, Georgia went home to be with Jesus and a much-awaited reunion of loved ones on Sunday, October 22, 2023, surrounded by her family. A Memorial and Celebration of Life, will be held this Saturday, the 28th of October, 2023 at 11am, at New Elim Church at 4368 Harley Bridge Rd., Macon, GA 31216. Services will be officiated by Pastor Johnny Baggett and her loving family.

Mary was born on September 8, 1945, as the youngest of 14, to the late Mr. Autell and Milida Pope, being adopted by her Aunt and Uncle, the late Mr. Harold Fleetwood and Lorene Norris Fleetwood (Coleman), as a small baby, after the passing of her mother. She always said, "I'm the baby of 14 and an only child". Though home-bound, she was a devoted member of New Elim Church, where she attended. Mary's legacy is one of love for Christ, love for her family and a dedication to all. Before health problems prevented her from doing so, Mary loved singing beautiful and powerful Sparano parts in her church choir, and though not needing to be convinced otherwise, had endless pride that her children and grandchildren, took on her love and passion for music, from her. She was unrelenting in being completely involved and dedicated to all aspects of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives, as well as, to those who called her "Momma", "Mema", "Sister", "Aunt" and "Friend". A natural caretaker at heart, of family, friends and anyone who she could give aid, she never refused to be whatever was needed in the moment, by providing a helping hand, word of encouragement, a rock, a soft place to land, a prayer warrior or protector, whenever and to whomever needed her. As well as a love for music, she passed on that caretaking heart to her children & grandchildren, who only pray they can only come close to living up to the legacy she left behind for them to follow. She was "Momma" to her children, to the neighborhood kids and anyone who just needed someone to be there, and like all "Real Mommas", she was "A force to be reckoned with that only the Lord himself could reign in!", when it came to those she loved! As any children who ever grew up around her would know, she had "eyes in the back of her head". She will be missed more than all our hearts can express. Some may use the word "Infinity, others may say an "agape" love, but she put the number "14" to signify the most love someone could possibly ever have for another.

If she could say it to you today, she would say: "I PRAY YOU'LL BE WITH ME HERE SOMEDAY AND HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL SOON! "B CAREFUL! I LOVE U 14!"

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her children, Daniel Bryan Harris (MaryAnna), Katrina Gayle Wilson, and Crystal Deniece Tucker.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Julie Tucker Usher and Laura Giles Adams (Robert); 5 grandchildren, Gary Stephan Tucker (Tiffany), Bryan Alexander Harris, Dr. Tyler Xavier Giles (Olivia), Markus Grady Sharpe, Mary Faith Goodwin, Haylee D.S.
