Marvin Stripling

March 10, 1938 — August 29, 2025

Marvin Howard Stripling, 87, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Services to celebrate his life may be held at a later date.

Born on March 10, 1938, in Macon, Georgia, Marvin embraced life with a joyful spirit and an ever-present smile. He had a deep love for Georgia Football and never missed a chance to cheer for the Dawgs. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he also enjoyed NASCAR, especially cheering for Jeff Gordon, and rarely passed up the opportunity to watch a game. One of his greatest joys was attending his granddaughter Haisley's softball games, where he could always be found seated by second base, cheering her on with pride.

As a young man, Marvin was an acrobat at the YMCA, and throughout his life he carried that same energy, optimism, and zest for living. He was always happy, always smiling, and had a gift for lifting others with his encouraging outlook. He also enjoyed following politics, keeping up with the news, and was a proud supporter of President Donald Trump.

Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of over 30 years, Mary Diane Stripling; his son, Ricky Stripling; and his daughter, Anita Darselle Hammock.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will live on in his family: his daughter, Donna Jean Davis; grandchildren, Sarah "Beth" Hammock, Matthew "Shane" Hammock, Amanda (Jarrett) Register, and Alyssa Davis; great-grandchildren, Konnor Johnson, Jace Clark, Haisley Register, and Kingston Clark. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and countless friends who may as well have been family. His faithful fur baby, Sugar, will miss him dearly, too.

Marvin lived a life full of joy, love, and positivity, leaving behind memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy will continue to shine through the laughter of his family, the crack of a bat on a ball field, and the roar of the Dawgs on a Saturday in the fall
