Marvin Earl Chapman, Sr., 87, of Macon, passed away peacefully Friday, June 30, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon. Pastor Lee Griffin will officiate. The family will have a time of visitation before the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. until service time.
Born in Pratteville, Alabama, he was the son of the late Allen Chapman, Sr. and Ruby Beck Chapman. Marvin proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He was self-employed the majority of this life as a general contractor for Chapman and Sons Construction. Marvin loved to work with his hands, and could build absolutely anything. He especially had a love for woodworking, old trim work, riding motorcycles and flying airplanes. He single handedly restored his home by himself, which is something he was very proud of.
Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, as well as one brother; Allen Dean Chapman, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving family. His wife of 28 years; Sharon Elaine Chapman. Children: Marvin Earl Chapman, Jr. (Janice), Beverly Ann Opulento (Roger), Michael Todd Chapman, Timothy Blake Chapman (Donna), Robert Shane Woodall, and Crystal Rene Spradlin. Grandchildren: Chanelle Gaison, Daniel Opulento, Marvin Chapman III, Gabriel, Michael, Blake, and Cara Chapman, Savannah and Scarlett Spradlin, Tyler and Carly Woodall. Seven great grandchildren and one sister; Joy Chapman Graham.
