Martha “Marty” Jeannine Hudson, age 76, passed away on August 1, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1950, in Forsyth, Georgia, to Thurmond and Hazel Belknap.

Known as Marty to her friends and affectionately called “Mott” by her family, she was exceptionally kind, generous, and loving. She never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone she encountered feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. She was known as Mama and Nana not only to her own family but also to many others who were blessed by her nurturing spirit and unconditional love.

Marty was involved with the Macon Jaycees for many years and worked passionately in support of Children’s Miracle Network. Helping children and families was especially meaningful to her, and she generously devoted her time and energy to making a difference in the lives of others.

Her career with Walmart spanned more than 25 years. During that time, Marty built an extensive Walmart family of coworkers, customers, and lifelong friends. Her dedication, warm personality, and genuine care for others created lasting relationships that extended far beyond the workplace.

Marty was preceded in death by her father, Thurmond Belknap; her mother, Hazel Belknap; her sister, Joyce Belknap; her granddaughter, Heather Harrod; and her grandson, Landon Carter.

She is survived by her brother, Kemp Belknap; her sister, Rita Davis; her daughters, Angela (Greg) Harrod, Tracy (Dennis) Willard, Sherry (Mark) McDaniel, and Shelly Rutherford; her son, Steven Hudson; and the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren she loved as her own, both by blood and by heart. She also leaves behind a multitude of extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched.

Marty’s life was a beautiful reflection of kindness, generosity, compassion, and unconditional love. Her greatest joy was caring for the people around her, and her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but the love and memories she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
