Mark "Rod" S. Rodriguez, born on Thursday, September 5, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his residence in Juliette, Georgia. Rod, as he was affectionately known by friends and family, was a cherished father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend.
Rod is survived by his loving daughter, Erica Song, and her husband Corey, as well as his brother, Phil Rodriguez, and his wife Peggy. He was also a devoted brother to Linda Franco and her husband Galo, and to Cindy Moore. Rod leaves behind four beloved grandchildren—Kylie, Cayden, Kaia, and Kinsley—who were his pride and joy, along with many nieces and nephews who fondly remember their uncle's warm and generous nature. Rod's memory will also be cherished by his lifelong friends, Larry Myers and Tiffani Ketch, who stood by him through thick and thin.
Preceding him in death were his adoring parents, Roberto and Angelita Rodriguez, his grandmother Christina Garcia, his brothers Roberto Rodriguez, Jr., Johnny Rodriguez, William Rodriguez, and his sisters Mary Tovar and Martha Rodriguez.
Rod was a dedicated construction worker, spending several years of his life with Astro Interior Contracting. Known for his sweet big heart, independence, and steadfast nature, he had a deep passion for the outdoors, where he loved to hunt, fish, and play pool.
As Rod's family and friends reflect on his life, they remember a man who prioritized those he loved and embraced life with gusto and spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
