Mark Kinney Moore

Mr. Mark Kinney Moore, age 56, a lifelong resident of Crawford County, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 31, 2026.

Memorial services will be held beginning at 4:30 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in the Crawford County Board of Education Auditorium with Karla Chidester officiating. Flowers maybe sent to 9601 Hopewell Road Musella, GA 31066 to be transported to the service.

Mark was born on March 10, 1970, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Joyce Minix and Enoch “Pie” Moore. He attended Crawford County High School and worked as a truck driver and at Carter Custom Woodworks Following declining health, he was forced to retire due to disability.

Mark was a true outdoorsman and an avid hunter who found great joy in God’s creation. Whether planting food plots, working the land, or sitting quietly in his deer stand, he was most at peace in the woods. One of his proudest accomplishments was harvesting a magnificent 15-point trophy buck, a story he never tired of telling. He was a loyal friend and a kind-hearted man. Above all else, Mark loved his family, and his greatest blessing in life was being the father of his son, Hunter.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Curtis Minix; his stepmother, Joanne Moore; and his brothers, Kelly Lucas Moore and Robbie Horne.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved fiancée, Kelly Sloan; his precious son, Hunter Lucas Moore; his father, Enoch “Pie” Moore; his brothers, J.R. Moore and David Moore; his sister, Tasha Quinn; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kim and Steve Jarrett of Ooltewah, Tennessee, Kathy and Brett Benson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kevin Sloan of Rome, Georgia. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many lifelong friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Chris Robinson, Bradley Carter, Brett Benson, Steve Jarrett, and Kevin Sloan.

Though Mark’s time with us was far too short, his love for the outdoors, his generous heart, and his unwavering love for his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
