Lizella

Marjorie Eugenia “GiGi” “Geni” Hancock, 67, of Lizella, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at FairHaven Funeral Home. The family will greet friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Longtime family friend, Dwayne True, will be officiating.

GiGi, as she was affectionately known, was born in 1959, to the Late Gene and Marjorie Clark Drawhorn. She was the third of six children.

She married Tim Hancock on April 19, 1976, whom faithfully, resiliently, and lovingly tended to her, especially in the final year of her life. They had just recently celebrated their Golden 50th Anniversary, a week before her passing. A devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend, and follower of Christ, she unapologetically loved and genuinely cared for, not only her people, but her people’s people, with amazing grace. She adored her grandchildren, always present as their biggest cheerleader, insisting on attending every event in their life… big and small. Her beautiful smile and gentle, infectious laugh were as precious as her lovely and tenacious spirit. She had a servant’s heart. She loved to read and enjoyed listening to uplifting music. Her love language was quality time. She also loved home improvement, constantly updating her home, rearranging furniture, and redecorating, earning a Certificate of Carpentry Framing from Central Georgia Technical College at the age of 43.

While she started out working in insurance, she later settled in to being a stay-at-home mom, raising her sons and becoming the Godly woman she was known to be. She fervently served the Lord and took so much joy in making the most of every day with her husband, children, grandkids, friends, and family. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Marjorie Drawhorn and her dear sister, Brenda Rumney. She is survived by her husband, Tim “Papa” Hancock; her children, Alan Hancock (daughter-in-love, Jill), Anthony Hancock (daughter-in-love, April); her grandchildren, Zoe Hancock, Noah Hancock, and Weston Hancock; her brothers, Dennis Drawhorn (Alise), Kenneth Drawhorn (Sister-in-love, Rhonda), Keith Drawhorn (Sister-in-love, Paula), and Craig Drawhorn; her close nieces, Tiffany Rumney and Jessica Drawhorn(Austin); her dear friend, Lenore Fogarty and many other beloved family members and friends.

Should you be able to attend, the family would like to invite you to adorn something purple, as that was Geni’s favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, if so choose, the family asks that you consider a donation in Geni’s name to an organization that you hold dear.
