Marilyn O'Hanlon

September 27, 1955 — August 21, 2025

Marilyn Maxine O'Hanlon, 69, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. A loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, Marilyn leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and creativity that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.

Born September 27, 1955, in Moline, Illinois, to Richard Oliver Berhenke and Dorothy Marie Ramsey Berhenke, Marilyn grew up with a deep appreciation for family, home, and the simple joys of life. She was a woman of many talents, an avid crafter who found joy in making things beautiful, whether through handmade holiday decorations or the loving care she gave to her garden. There was always something special in her hands, and her creativity brought warmth and cheer to every season.

Marilyn was happiest when surrounded by her family. She shared more than 40 wonderful years with the love of her life, Laird O'Hanlon. Their love was the kind that inspired others, full of playfulness and laughter. Whether teasing each other across the kitchen or starting a water hose "war" in the house, Marilyn and Laird found joy in each other every single day.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Laird O'Hanlon; their children, Laird (Andrea) O'Hanlon Jr., Carrie Sutherland, Carla O'Hanlon, Chancie (Justin) Noel, Dani (Nic) Joyce, and Connie (Chad) Parsons; her sister Connie (Terry) Hansen; and by her many beloved grandchildren: Phillip, Heather, Carl, Cas, Michelle, Shane, Riley, Ryder, Tiffany, Kiowa, Jay, Skyler, Dalton, Claire, Emily, Alex, and Zane. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Dorothy Berhenke, and her loved niece, Kelly Hansen.

Those who knew Marilyn will remember her for her warmth, her sense of humor, and the way she could always be found on her porch swing, cigarette in hand, rain or shine. She never met a holiday she couldn't brighten, a garden she couldn't grow, or a person she couldn't make feel at home.

A celebration of Marilyn's life and funeral services may be held at a later date.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered
