Marie was born on October 11, 1931, in Macon, Georgia to the late Mr. Steelie Monroe Graham and Mrs. Annie Bell Willingham. She was a devoted member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where she dedicated much of her time serving. She was an avid volunteer for the Vacation Bible Schools, a Sunday school teacher and spent countless hours praying for everyone. Marie was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness. At home, she was a true homemaker, creating a warm and inviting environment for her family and anyone who came by. Her home was always a place of refuge, offering a sense of belonging and peace to all who entered. Her unwavering generosity and selflessness made her a truly remarkable woman.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Jackson "S.J." Harris; children, Marcus Daniel Harris, James Samuel Harris, and Nancy Sue Howard; brother, James Monroe Graham; sister, Patricia Graham McCarthy.

Left to cherish the memories made with her is her daughter, Melanie Harris Grayson; sisters, Debbie Hunnicutt, and Loretta Walker; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and eight great- great grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their immense gratitude to her niece, Patricia Touhy and Dylanda "Honey" Young. They took incredible care of Ms. Marie, and she will reside in their hearts forever.
