Marianne Johns, 85, of Lizella, Georgia went to be with her Lord Saturday May 17, 2025. A graveside service to honor her life will be 10:00 AM Thursday May 22, 2025, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 7070 Houston Rd, Macon, Georgia 31216. Reverand Josh Gale will be officiating all services.
Marianne was born July 11, 1939, in Weissenburg, Germany to the late Mr. Adolf Gutmann and Mrs. Maria Drey Gutmann. She lived a vibrant and passionate life, filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family. An avid reader with a soft spot for romance novels, she found joy in the pages of love stories as well as under the sun by her beloved pool, her personal oasis. Marianne's zest for life was matched by her strong will and unwavering determination, yet she led with empathy and a warm heart that always made sure everyone was well fed, especially with the comforting flavors of her cherished German cooking. A proud member of the Byron Babes, the Red Hat Society, and the Order of the Eastern Star, she built strong bonds of sisterhood and community. Marianne also had a fierce love for soccer, cheering passionately for her team, FC Bayern Munich. Her spirit was radiant, her presence unforgettable, and her life a beautiful celebration of love, strength, and joy.
In addition to her parents Marianne is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years Emmett Johns; brother, Adolf Gutmann II.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Alex (Hallie) Johns, Michael (Valerie) Johns; grandchildren, Ethan Johns, Ariana Johns, and Zachary Johns.
