Margaret Myers

June 28, 1950 — February 26, 2025

Maragret Mary Hellwig Myers, 74, of Houston County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Pastor Lee Griffin will officiate the service.

Margaret was born in Bellville, Illinois on June 28, 1950. Margaret was a woman of unwavering faith, deeply devoted to the Lord and filled with love for the Holy Spirit. Her passion for attending church was a testament to her spiritual dedication, always eager to grow closer to her faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother, always putting her family at the center of her life. Margaret found joy in the simple things—crafting, crocheting, quilting, and staying busy with her artistic hobbies like drawing and ceramics. Her light-hearted spirit shone through in everything she did, whether it was laughing at silly jokes or enjoying her favorite shows like American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. Stubborn yet selfless, Margaret was a woman who gave freely of her love and time, always putting others first, and embracing life with a joyful, simple heart.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughters, Tonya Atkins and Cassandra Atkins; brothers, Reginald Hellwig and Gary Hellwig; sister, Marilyn Hellwig.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 41 years, Carl Myers; sons, Lee Sterling Myers, Chuck Myers (Lori), Matthew Myers; daughter, Brandy Strickland (Stephen); brother, Frank Hellwig; sisters, Mary Ann Hellwig, Frances Hellwig, Janice Hellwig, grandchildren, Hunter (Rachel), Isabella, Vivian, Bradley; great grandchild, Scarlett, Kayce and a set of twins that will join us soon; her loving friend, Toni Hellwig; devoted niece, Angie Hellwig; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
