Luther Earl Salter, 75 of Buena Vista, Georgia passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019. Graveside service will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Alligood Cemetery, Dexter, Georgia. The family will have a time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 in Fairhaven Funeral Home, Macon.
Born in Wrightsville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Luther Clyde Salter and Mary Elizabeth Knight Salter. He grew up in Milledgeville, Georgia and lived most of his life in Bibb County. He enjoyed many years in the auto sales business both with his own dealership and wholesale business. Mr. Salter loved the Lord and will be remembered for his quick wit, a kind heart and willingness to help others. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Salter, Siblings, Curtis Salter, Ralph Salter, Randall Salter, and Bessielene Slappey.
He is survived by his wife, Melisa Cromer Salter, Children, Brittany Salter(Jacob Hootman) and Ricky Salter(Patty); Grandchildren, Joseph Salter, Dakota Hootman, Nataleigh Hootman. Sister, MaryNell Tanner (Vunion). Beloved nephews, Greg Salter and Brian Tanner, who were a big help to him in his later years. Extended family, Donnie and Starla Cromer, and Melanie and Tim Turner. Several nieces and nephews.
