Loella Ward

Loella V. Harris Ward, 78, of Lizella, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022. A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 27, at 2:00 PM, in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, October 26, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home.

Ms. Ward was born on July 28, 1944, in Live Oak, Florida, to the late Mr. Walter Garfield Harris and Mrs. Rebecca Emma Allen Harris. She was retired from Bell Arbor Nursing Home where she worked as a registered nurse. A true southern country girl that loved goats and animals, Ms. Ward spent much her free time practicing shooting, fishing for catfish, cooking, and watching her favorite tv shows such as soap operas, Swamp People, and wrestling. She loved hard, would give you the shirt off her back, but would certainly set you straight if you got out of line and kill you with kindness. Ms. Ward will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Ms. Ward was preceded in death by her husband of 30 plus years, Richard Ward; son, Walter George Yarborough, Jr.; and three sisters.

Ms. Ward is survived by her daughter, Ellen Cowles; son, Richard Yarbrough; grandchildren, Darryl Cowles (Maura Holland), Harley Colón, (Matthew), Marylou Yarbrough, and Christy Ostas (Steve); great-grandchildren, Leanna,
Maddison, Little Jason, Cameron, and Gunner; and brothers, Larry Harris and Richard Harris.
