Linda Gail Williamson, 85, of Knoxville, Georgia passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 12, 2025, surrounded by her family. A memorial service to honor her life will be 11:00 AM Saturday March 22, 2025, at Living Stone Baptist Church 5645 Taylors Mill Rd Fort Valley, Georgia. The family invites friends to join them for a time of visitation one hour prior to services. Pastor David Idigpio will be officiating all services.
Linda was born on March 3, 1940, in Patmos Arkansas to the late Mr. Horace Twymon and Mrs. Rena Mae Horton Hollis. Linda was a vibrant and dedicated woman who spent her life serving others and embracing the simple joys of life. A longtime member of Living Stone Baptist Church, she not only contributed to the church's community but also took pride in being the "Church Lady" who would organize and cook for church events. She loved gardening in her own special way; she would supervise all of Mel's hard work. Always keeping busy, Linda was a woman of action—whether planning family cookouts, fishing, or simply enjoying a day of shopping, she found happiness in the activities that brought her close to her loved ones. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent together, especially during camping trips. Linda's spirit, energy, and love for life will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 24 Years, Melford Williamson Jr.; sister, Patsy Blackwood; daughters, Gloria (Tom) Nale, Terry (Art) Dingler; stepdaughters, Laura Hester, Janet Hurt; stepson, Brian Williamson; grandchildren, Michelle Cooper, Jennifer Barrett, Rusty Bozant; six great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
