Linda Kay Weir, 73, of Macon, Georgia, died Monday, August 23, 2021, at Macon's Pruitt Peake Nursing Home, battling oral cancer.
Linda was born Wednesday, April 28, 1948, in Dalton, Georgia. She graduated from Dalton High School in 1966, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Georgia University, Dahlonega, Georgia, in 1970. She subsequently earned credentials as a Medical Technologist from Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.
Following employment at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Franklin Square Medical Center, both in Baltimore, Maryland, Linda retired in 2012 from the United States Food and Drug Administration, Rockville, Maryland. She was a member of Saint Mark Orthodox Church, Bethesda, Maryland.
Linda was preceded in death by parents, Lewis Weir and Ruby Rumfelt Weir.
Surviving are Linda's sister, Jean Weir Carney (Mac) of Calhoun, Georgia; niece Renee Carney Horton (Reed) of Warner Robins, Georgia; great niece Saige Horton; great nephews Zachary Horton (Jessica), Joshua Horton (Meagan); and great-great nephew Bentley Horton.
