Linda Mae Whittington Purvis, 63, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 18 at 2:00 Pm in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Purvis was born on January 9, 1958, in Milan, Georgia, to the late Junior Whittington and Mosa Mae Young Whittington. She was employed as a registered nurse for 30 years with the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Ms. Purvis was a great woman who loved her family and taking care of others. She had two favorite sayings when someone was upset and in an "upraise," "silence is golden baby," and "patience is a virtue, virtue is grace, put together, makes a smiling face."
Ms. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Gary Purvis; son, William Samuel Ivey; and brother, Billy Wayne Whittington.
Ms. Purvis is survived by her sisters, Debbie Stembridge and Gail Holder (Aaron); brother, Larry Joe Whittington; grandson, Caden Britt Ivey; nieces, Amanda Whittington, Jessica Whittington, and Devin Holder; nephews, Billy Wayne Whittington, Jr., Jody Stembridge (Gage), and Alan Holder; great-niece, Camille Stembridge; special friend, Larry Hudson; and several extended family members.
