Leonard Thurman Hart

Leonard Thurman Hart, 72, of Kathleen, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, at 10:00 AM in the chapel of FairHaven Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Later that day, Mr. Hart will be laid to rest at 2:00 PM in Andersonville National Park Cemetery, 780 POW Road, Andersonville, Georgia 31711.

Mr. Hart was born on December 20, 1950, in McRae, Georgia, to the late Mr. RT Hart and Mrs. Lillian Cooper Hart. Mr. Hart, known affectionately as "Henry" by his siblings proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Hart retired from Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center after 20+ years of service. In his free time, he liked playing golf, going on walks with Laura and their dogs, watching UGA football and the Atlanta Braves, of which he was avid fans, and traveling with Laura. Mr. Hart adored his five granddaughters and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mr. Hart is survived by his wife of 48 years, Laura Park Hart; children, Derek Hart (Mallie), Gregory Hart (Shea), and Michael Hart (Melissa); grandchildren, Madilyn Hart, Charlie Sanders, Bailey Hart, Bishop Hart, and Atley Hart; siblings, Bonnie Evans (Charles), Neva Evans (Reggie), Leon Hart (Carol), Lee Hart (Joy), and Frank Hart (Mercedes).
