Leonard Dwayne Dunlap, 71, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Parkway Assembly of God. Interment will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Joe Williams will officiate. The family will greet friends on Friday, June 26, 2015 at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Macon, Ga. 31216 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Dunlap was born in Kinards, SC to Rev. and Mrs. L.T. Dunlap and graduated from high school in Iva, SC. He attended Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA, where he served as president of the student council and completed his training as a pharmacist at the University of Georgia, where he met his wife. After living in Easley, SC for nearly seven years, the family moved to Macon in 1974. Mr. Dunlap was one of the founding members of the former Northside Assembly of God in Macon, and was also a member of First Assembly of God and Parkway Assembly of God.
Mr. Dunlap is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Tomberlin Dunlap; three children: Richard (Gina) Dunlap, Brian (Tammy) Dunlap and Jennifer (John) Dougherty; eleven grandchildren: Andrew, Tucker, Emily, Anna, Nyssa, Ethan, Abigail, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Gabriela and Alexander; and two siblings: Sterling (Marguerite) Dunlap and Cecelia (Joe) Williams. He was preceded in death by one brother, John (Marvanelle) Dunlap.
In Lieu of Flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to Emmanuel College, P.O. Box 129, Franklin Springs, Georgia 30639.
