Laverne Pittman, 75, of Macon, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, August 31, at 4 pm. at Bridgeway Church, 6025 Rogers Road, Lizella, Georgia 31052. Pastor, Eddie Coatney will officiate. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time.
Ms. Pittman was born on July 19, 1950, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Robert Reese and Mary Pittman Wrye. She retired from Subway, where she worked as restaurant manager. Laverne was a loving mother and Nana. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing HER girls happy! Laverne recently connected with brothers and sisters she didn't know she had, and they quickly connected and built an unbreakable bond that brought her so much happiness and filled a huge hole in her heart! She loved crafting and cooking and up to her very last days she loved making things from dish scrunchies to baby blankets and scarves to much more and being able to gift them to people she came in contact with every day.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Pittman was preceded in death by her son-in-love, Melvin Douglas. Her Brother James Pittman and sister Sandra.
Left to cherish Ms. Pittman's memory is her precious fur baby Reese and her children, Becky Douglas, Shane Andrews, and stepchildren Derrick Andrews (Sharon) and Katrina Crutchfield; grandchildren, Karly Douglas Browning (Justin), Noah, Jordan and Matthew Andrews; sisters, Cheryl Williams (David) and Lisa Wyatt; niece Doris Copeland and nephew Chris Pittman, many extended family members and friends that were family!
