Larry Stanley Myers Sr, 82, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 10:00 AM to Noon. A celebration of his life will be held immediately following the visitation on Saturday at Houston Road Church.  The burial will take place on Monday October 28, 2024, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia at 2:30 with his immediate family.

Larry was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on January 12, 1942, to the late Mr. Theodore Wilson Myers and Mrs. Della Mae Veals. He was the second born of twelve children.  He had six sisters and five brothers. Larry honorably served his country in the United States Navy, and he met his wife, Karin, in Long Beach, California.  After his discharge, they went to Knoxville, Tennessee to start their lives together. In 1974, his employer, Allied Chemical, transferred he and his family to Macon, Georgia. When Allied decided to transfer again, Larry and Karin made the decision to stay in Macon.  Larry then changed his field into being a machinist and started working for Spires Electric where he retired.

Larry was a top-ranked horseshoe pitcher in the state in the championship division. He was reigning "Player of the year" in the Georgia Horseshoe Pitcher's Association. He attended the World Horseshoe Tournament in St. George, Utah, he placed ninth out of 1,032 competitors. Karin always ensured she was a pillar of support and strength for him, never missing a tournament no matter how far she would have to travel.

In 2014, he had the best horseshoe year to date. He received four titles, Georgia State Elders Champion, Georgia State Doubles Champion, Georgia Player of the Year, and Georgia Big Dog of the year. He was very proud of this.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Ann Womack.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of Karin, children, Sheri Horton, Larry Myers, Jr. (Tiffani), Larry Womack; grandchildren, Josh Tyson (Heather), Jamie Womack, Jordan Womack, Brandon James (Kym), Master Sergeant Denny Horton, Jr., (Sienna), Heather Myers (Derek), Larry Myers, III., (Ashley), Wyatt Myers; twenty one great grandkids, and one great great grandchildren.
