Reuben "Larry" Hamrick, 67, of Lizella, Georgia, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, July 28, 2018. The family will have a visitation Friday, August 3, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life service held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Hopkinsport-Event Center, 4738 Dixon Road, Lizella, GA 31052. The family will also be scheduling a Memorial Ride at the Echeconnee Motocross Track in Lizella, Georgia at a later date. The family will be updating social media for the time of the Memorial Ride.
Born on June 13, 1951, to the late John Ross and Annie Ruth Hamrick Sr. Larry was lovingly known as Papa by his family. Larry worked with his father in the construction field for many years, before starting his own company RLH, Inc. After retiring from construction, Larry became an Accessibility Specialist for HUD and DOJ. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Papa also enjoyed Motocross and family time, especially cooking out. He battled long and hard against the cancer that ultimately claimed his life. Along with his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his Brother-in-law, Terry Lindsey.
His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Hamrick; His children, Son, Chris Seward (Shelly); Daughter, Tracie Hopkins (Matthew); Brother, John Hamrick, Jr. (Kay); Sister, Sharon H. Lindsey; Beloved Mother-in-law, Sara Myrick; Son and Daughter-in-law, Mark and Bobbie O'Neil; Four adorable grandchildren, Ryder Seward, Fisher Hopkins, Gunner Hopkins and Caroline O'Neil and two devoted friends Rusty Willingham and Buddy Donald "The Don" Dunlavey.
In lieu of flowers the family would like that charitable donations be made in Larry's honor to the American Cancer Society; 804 Cherry Street, Macon GA, 31201.
