Larkie Mae Prestridge, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026. Born on Tuesday, July 25th, 1944, in Bath, South Carolina, Larkie lived a life full of love, dedication, and joy.
A devoted homemaker, Larkie poured her heart and soul into caring for her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aroma of her cooking. She had a passion for music, especially the tunes of the Beach Boys and Eagles, and found great joy in crocheting, tending to her flowers, and the companionship of her beloved cats.
Larkie was preceded in death by her father, Irvin Holley; her mother, Lila Mae Holley; and her husband of 53 years, Robert "Bob" Prestridge. She found solace and strength in her memories of them and carried their love with her throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Carol Sikes, Joyce Union (Joseph Jr.), and Sarah Prestridge. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Ernie Arnold Jr., Michael Arnold, Christopher Garrett, Christopher DeLoach (Sarah Beth), Joshua Arnold, Kevin DeLoach, Kelly King (Brent), Anna Allen (Brandon), and Felicia Sayre (Justin). Larkie was also blessed with six great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her later years.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Larkie's life at a funeral service on Saturday, May 30th, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home in Macon, GA. Prior to the service, a visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the same location. Kelly Loren King will officiate the service, honoring Larkie's life and legacy. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery following the service.

Larkie Mae Prestridge will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her love and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
