Kimberly Mackey

June 7, 1965 — February 20, 2025

Kimberly Jo Cook Mackey, 59, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2025, surrounded by her family. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family would like to invite friends to join them for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Jordan Poole will officiate the service.

Kimberly was born in Macon, Georgia on June 7, 1965, to the late Mr. Thomas Elmer Cook and Mrs. Jolene Nelson Cook. Kimberly was a compassionate and dedicated woman who touched the lives of many through her work and personal relationships. As a registered nurse for 37 years, she dedicated herself to caring for others, and later became a diabetes educator, pouring her heart into helping people manage their health. Her commitment extended beyond her profession, as she was an active member of Hope Church and served as a door greeter for Southside's Celebrate Recovery. Kimberly had a love for animals, the beach, fitness, travel, and crime shows, but her deepest passion was her faith and family. She remained steadfast in her beliefs and values, always grounded in her strong faith and never wavering from who she was. A devoted mother, wife, and friend, she cherished every moment with her loved ones. Kimberly was known for her long conversations with her son, Josh, as he traveled for work and her occasional motorcycle rides, always capturing memories through photos that her family will forever hold dear. Her legacy of love, compassion, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Bill Mackey; son, Joshua McGehee (Jenny); brother, Thomas "Mike" Cook; and grandchildren, Jolie and Juniper.

In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that donations be made in Kimberly's honor to one of the following; No Kill Shelters or Macon Rescue Mission.
