Kennis Tucker

December 28, 1928 — June 2, 2015

Passed on from this life on June 2, 2015, to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Born December 28, 1928 near Lizella in rural Crawford County Georgia, the son of the late Joel Robert Tucker and the late Nancy Jane McKinney Tucker.

Kennis joined the Navy in 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1950, after serving in the Korean War. After being discharged from the Navy, he joined the Georgia Army National Guard and served in the 48th Brigade as a medic. He was a retired civil service police officer at Warner Robins Air Force Base for over 35 years. Kennis had been active in the CB Radio club in Macon for years and was also a member of Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church.

Kennis is survived by his daughter, Karen Tucker of Macon, GA, son Jack William (Annette) Tucker of Savannah, GA, step-daughters, Margaret Louise Hall of Cincinnati, OH & Caroline Ann (Scott) Murphy of Marietta, GA, step-son, John R. (Jane) Hall of Macon, nieces Dale Ross, Nora Robbins, Pam Ross, grandchildren, Christopher (Allison) Bryant, Alaina (Jamar) Hodge, Keiland (Edith) Bryant, Shannon (Christopher) Lee, Justin Tucker, Andrea Nikki Tucker, Zachery & James Hilton, Troy Ramsburger, Joshua Tucker, Brandon Darley, Amelia Joy Murphy (Brandon) Ruddell, Mary Claire Murphy, Brian Lewis Murphy, Laura Dukes (John) Griffies, Ben Dukes, Adam (Kelly) Dukes, Shirley Wilday, life-long family friend, and 15 great grandchildren.

Kennis was preceded in death by his first wife, Susie Ann Tucker. They were married August 29th, 1952 in Macon, GA until her death in 1984. Their son, Tony also preceded Kennis in death. Kennis was then married to Pat Gibson Hall Tucker in 1985 until her death in 2011.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 6th ,at 11:00am in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery . Fairhaven Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements. Family will greet friends after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Ga, 31210.
