Brian "Keith" Waits, 55, of Fort Valley, Georgia, passed away Tuesday May 27, 2025. A graveside funeral service to honor his life will be 3:30 PM Friday May 30, 2025, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family invites friends to join them 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM at FairHaven Funeral Home for a time of visitation. Pastor Bobby Hamlin will be officiating all services with the assistance of Pastor Jeremy Singletary.
Keith was born on May 4, 1970, to Mrs. Kay Hatcher Waits and the late Mr. Larry Gene Waits Sr. He was a one-of-a-kind soul whose love for life was as big as his heart. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as "Papa Quiche" a name as unique and full of character as he was. He cherished his family above all else, always showing up with a smile, a joke, or a helping hand. Whether he was digging in his garden, blasting 80's music, cheering on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, or watching a NASCAR race, Keith brought energy and joy to everything he did. He loved Daytona Beach, fishing trips, and any excuse to be outside, soaking up the world around him. Keith was kind and loving, fun and silly, sometimes aggravating in the most endearing way, and definitely picky, especially when it came to his beloved name brands. His wife called him "the best thing to ever happen to me," a title he wore proudly in the quiet, steadfast way he loved her. With catchphrases like "Great Geezer," "You better shut your mouth," and "It's alright," Keith left behind more than memories; he left laughter, love, and a legacy of truly living.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, of eight years, Dawn Waits; sons, Kyle (Carolina) Waits, Dakota (Gracey) Ballard, Dalton Ballard; daughters, Marissa (Dustin) Herndon, Presley Waits; brothers, Larry (Jennifer) Waits, Shannon (Dalisa) Waits; grandchildren, Kynleigh, Kade , Kreek Waits, Daxton , Dawson, Dutton Herndon; niece, Brittany Waits; nephews, Jordan Waits, Brett Waits, Daniel Frank, David Frank, Baily Frank; and many extended family.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
