Mrs. Mercer was born on October 23, 1936, in Noma, Florida to the late Mr. O.C. Dozier and Mrs. Mauline Henderson. She was a member of PeachTree Baptist church where she faithfully served. Kay's love language was shown through the dishes she created in the kitchen. You could always count on her Banana Pudding and Coconut Cake to cheer you up. Outside of the kitchen, she enjoyed gardening and the simplicity of it. She found joy in quilting and sewing. Above all, her family was the light of her life. Her strong-willed, devoted, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky enough to be loved by her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Wade Taylor; brother, Wilton Dozier; and daughter in law, Wanda Taylor.
Left to cherish the many memories of Kay is her husband, Jack Mercer; brother, Edsel (Jean) Dozier, Willard (Sylvia) Dozier; sister-in-law, Mary; sister Martha Jo Moon, Merlene Scott; grandchildren, Josh (Nikki) Taylor; great grandchildren, Scout and Liam Taylor.
In lieu of flowers and donations the family graciously asks that donations be made in her honor to PeachTree Baptist Church.
