Born on January 11, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Burien Winford Smith and Myrna Joyce Knowles.
Katrina, affectionately known as "Aunt Kat," faced many challenges in life, but her faith and devotion to God remained unwavering. With the support of Potters House, she found strength and purpose, serving as a house mother under Cherie Burdeshaw. She was an active member of her Bible church, worked tirelessly at the local food bank, and loved singing in the choir.
She had a giving heart, a playful sense of humor, and was known for making jokes even if she couldn't always take one herself. Katrina also loved the outdoors and found peace in the beauty of the mountains. She adored animals, especially birds and cats, and her love for her family and friends was evident in all she did.
She is survived by her son and daughter; her brother; two sisters; two brothers-in-law; three nieces; four nephews; one aunt; many cousins and her fur baby, Gizmo.
Katrina Lynne Smith will be remembered for her faith, her kindness, her laughter, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
