Katherine Shreve McKinney, 83, of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 5, 2024. A funeral service to honor her life will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation. Immediately following, Ms. Katherine will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Earl Smith and Mr. Brad Blackmon will officiate the services.
Katherine was born in Abbeville, Georgia on August 8, 1941, to the late Mr. James William Stone and Mrs. Nellie M. Cranford. She was a devoted member of Ocmulgee East Boulevard Baptist Church for thirty-one years. She was a devout Christian lady, always praying for others and lifting them up in faith. Katherine's love for her family was unmatched, and she cherished every moment spent with them. When she could, she found peace and joy in tending to her garden, cultivating both beauty and serenity. She also enjoyed traveling, discovering new places, and cooking meals that brought warmth to her loved ones. A true lover of flowers, her heart bloomed with the same kindness, grace, and beauty that they represented. She was a beautiful woman inside and out; loving, giving, faithful, and nurturing. Katherine will be missed dearly by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband of 31 years, Oliver Shreve; second husband of 8 years, Jewett McKinney; sons, James William McClanahan and Ronnie Lee McClanahan; two brothers and two sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carolyn Amerson, Cathy Land, Don Shreve (Elan), Ricky Shreve (Joyce), Dale Shreve (Nancy), Larry McKinney, Sr (Gail), Margie Carroll, and Patricia Asbell (Charles); grandchildren, Cathy Piper (Jason) and Lacey Herndon (Ray); great grandchildren, Kelsey (Dameon), Austin, Tyler, Brandon, Tommy, Noah; and a great-great grandbaby, Harmony.
