Justin Adam Drawhorn

Mar 2, 1997 — Oct 16, 2026

Justin “JJ” Adam Drawhorn, 29, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. Though his time here was far too short, JJ leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, loyalty, and a passion for all things with a motor. His larger than life personality, protective heart, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends will forever be treasured by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A funeral service to celebrate JJ’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Mikado Baptist Church. The family invites friends to join them one hour prior to the service for a time of visitation and fellowship. Immediately following the service, JJ will be laid to rest at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

JJ was born on March 2, 1997, in Macon, Georgia, to Larry Steve Drawhorn and Amy Gibbs Drawhorn. From an early age, JJ developed a deep love for racing and anything with an motor. His passion was more than a hobby; it was a part of who he was. Determined to turn that passion into a career, he attended NASCAR Technical Institute, where he pursued the education and training needed to become a qualified mechanic. He went on to work as an aircraft mechanic with the 562nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (AMXS) at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, where he put his mechanical knowledge and skills to work.

When JJ wasn't working, there was a good chance he could be found at a dirt track, doing what he loved most: racing Late Models under the number 17E. The excitement of the track and the roar of a motor brought him tremendous joy. His love for motors extended well beyond the racetrack, as he enjoyed RC cars, four-wheelers, side by sides, and just about anything else with a motor. If it had wheels, an engine, or the ability to go fast, JJ was interested! He also enjoyed hunting and spending time doing the things that made life memorable alongside the people he loved.

While JJ's mechanical talents and love for racing were a big part of his life, those who knew him best will remember him for so much more. He was goofy, funny, full of personality, and always capable of bringing laughter into a room. He had a way of making people smile and creating memories that would be talked about long after the moment had passed. Beneath his playful spirit was a deeply caring heart. JJ loved his family fiercely and was known for being protective of those closest to him. When he loved someone, he loved them wholeheartedly, and he never hesitated to stand up for the people who meant the most to him.

JJ also had a special place in his heart for children and enjoyed helping make a difference in their lives through the Gold Rush for a Cure Foundation. His willingness to support a cause that helped children reflected the generous spirit behind his humor and larger than life personality. Whether he was working on a vehicle, spending time with loved ones, enjoying the thrill of racing, or helping others, JJ brought his own unmistakable energy to everything he did.

Among the greatest blessings in JJ's life was the love he shared with his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Shelby Drawhorn. Their journey together was a special part of his story, and the bond they shared will remain a treasured memory for those who loved them. JJ's family was his foundation, his greatest source of love, and an essential part of everything that mattered to him.

JJ was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, PaPa Joe; his uncles, Frankie Roberts and Jeff Roberts; cousin, Drew Roberts; and his aunt, Bridgett Hay.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Shelby Drawhorn; his parents, Larry and Amy Drawhorn; his grandparents, Mary Ann Gibbs and Jim (Patsy) Drawhorn; his sisters, Katie (Bubba) Johnson and Courtney Drawhorn; his in-laws, Daniel and Kim Francis; his sisters-in-law, Brooklynn Francis and Raelynn Francis; his nieces, Dagen Drawhorn and McKailyn Hulsey; his nephews, Camden Sylvia, Bentley Drawhorn, and Jayden Havis; along with numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and his beloved fur babies, Diesel and Gambler.

Though JJ's life ended much too soon, the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he gave will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. His legacy will forever be carried through the stories told at the racetrack, the memories made with loved ones, and the countless moments that remind those who knew him just how special he was. The roar of an engine, the excitement of a dirt track will always bring thoughts of JJ and the passion that made him who he was.

JJ will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Until the day they meet again, those who love him will carry his memory in their hearts, holding close the laughter, loyalty, and unforgettable spirit of Justin “JJ” Adam Drawhorn.
