Julius Edward "Grandpa" Staines, 79, of Macon went to be with his Lord as Savior on Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Midway Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Reverends Mike Fuller and Billy Abney will officiate. Immediately following the service, Ed will be laid to rest in the church cemetery next to his loving wife. The family will have a time of visitation to greet friends Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at FairHaven Funeral Home, 4989 Mount Pleasant Church Rd, Macon.
Born on September 10, 1938, in Warwick, Georgia, Ed was the son of the late Leon and Myrtle Staines. He worked the majority of his life as a Truck Driver, with Overnite Transportation. He was an active member of Midway Baptist Church as well as several Gospel Quartet groups over his lifetime. Ed enjoyed singing at church with his granddaughter. Ed's sweet spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife, Carolyn Parham Staines and one brother: George Staines.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving daughter, Teresa Johnson (Darrell). Two grandchildren, whom he adored, Lindsey Morris, and Joseph Watson as well as one precious great grandchild: Charlotte Grace. Two brothers: Leon Staines (Janet) and Kenneth Staines (Anne) as well as one sister: JoAnn Lusinger and several loving nieces and nephews.
