Judy Brooks Elrod, 71, of Lizella, Georgia passed away Wednesday March 18, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Born in Macon Georgia she was the daughter of late Johnny Brooks and Violet Ray Brooks. She was preceded in death by a sister, Robbie Woodard.
She is survived by her husband Richard Elrod, Sisters, Marjorie Sapp (Jimmy Blanton), Renee Carver (Lawrence), Several nieces and a nephew, also close family friend Edie Young.
Judy attended Shiloh Baptist church in forsyth. She previously work at inland Containers for many years and she retired from the Georgia Heart Center at the Medical Center of Central Georgia where she was a medical receptionist.
Judy was known as "Judy the Pony Lady", she was a loving, caring person and never met a stranger. And when she said, I love you, she wholeheartedly meant it. She was always so full of life and everything was an adventure, Judy had a love for all animals, and had a farm full that she named each animal and treated them as if they were her children. Judy was a big time movie fanatic and was always inviting you over to watch the newest releases and then talk you into the older musical types. She loved a party, the bigger the better, and all the bling that could be had. Judy also had a green thumb, she could grow anything, and would revive plants that had been given up on or even root plants to share. Over the years Judy and Richard had Pony Walk, Inc. and provided ponies for birthday parties and other social gatherings, she would have local teenagers as helpers, she cared deeply for the teens and they all grew up having special memories to cherish.
Judy married the love of her life, Richard, on March 27, 1968, this year would mark 52 years strong. When Judy spoke of Richard, which was often, you could hear the love and excitement in her voice, or see her eyes light up. This was a love like no other. Judy will be missed by all that knew her.
